Postponed: Rabbi Shim Maslin on God for Grown-ups

May 5 2020, 7:30 PM - 8:45 PM

Due to unexpected illness, the last class in this series has been postponed.

No one, no matter how brilliant, saintly or charismatic, ever has or ever will prove the existence – or non-existence — of God. If the infinite God posited by Judaism since ancient times does, in fact, exist, then that God is by definition beyond human comprehension.

God for Grown-ups presents a concept of God as the infinite intelligence of the universe. It avoids any references to God as personal and providential. Following the lead of Baruch Spinoza and Albert Einstein, the book understands God as the creative force that conceived the world billions of years ago.

This course is free but requires registration. You will need a copy of the book, God for Grown-ups. For those who use Kindle, it is available on Amazon for less than $4.00. The soft-cover edition is also available on Amazon. Hard cover copies may be ordered from the author for $20.00 each, by completing a Contact Us form here, and then to be picked up by individual arrangement.

  • This 4 week class is free but we require pre-registration, and you can sign up here.
  • After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with Zoom access information.
