Odelia needs your support for Project HOME

February 6, 2020

Odelia is a 6th grader at Kohelet Yeshiva Middle School and a happy camper at Camp Ramah in the Poconos. Her younger siblings, Azzi and Yonah, and her parents, Rebecca Krasner and Rabbi Abe Friedman, are super stoked for her Bat Mitzvah. Odelia also wants you to know how you can help support her Bat Mitzvah project:

For my Bat Mitzvah project, I organized a drive for an organization called Project HOME. Project HOME is a non-profit that cares for and works to improve the lives of people experiencing homelessness. One of the ways that they do this is by finding permanent housing for people. Of course, a house does not become a home until you have towels, sheets, soap, and many other things that Project HOME isn’t in a position to supply to everyone who they help.

The purpose of my drive is to collect these types of items and donate them to Project HOME.  For this drive, I’m collecting sheets, pillows, towels, toiletries, full-sized soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues. Basically anything you would find in a bathroom or bedroom.  You probably noticed boxes marked “Project HOME Collection” in the hallway at BZBI. If you want to donate any of the aforementioned items to my drive, you should put them in one of those boxes.
