Mazel Tov Becca!
Becca Bushee has been a part of the BZBI community her whole life, attending the Laurie Wagman Playschool, Abigail R. Cohen Preschool, and the Neziner Hebrew School. She is currently a 7th grader at Friends Select School. She plays chess and competes on the school swim team, specializing in breaststroke. Her hobbies include reading, drawing, and writing fantasy stories with exotically-named characters. Becca enjoys helping people and providing friendly advice. She plans to use these skills to be a doctor who writes novels on the side.
For her Bat Mitzvah project, Becca has been volunteering at the Watermark, which is a retirement community near her school. She spends an hour a week with the residents, playing games with them and talking with them about their lives and interests. She has worked both with regular assisted-living residents and with those who live on the memory floor. Becca has found volunteering there to be a rewarding way to make a difference.
Becca, her brother Jacob, and her parents, Nancy Rothbard and Brian Bushee, are looking forward to celebrating her Bat Mitzvah on April 21, 2018.
