BZBI is excited to launch The BZBI Jewish Music Series, a set of four concerts that highlight the best of emerging Jewish cultural and liturgical music, honor traditional Jewish genres, and enrich our community’s spiritual life. THE CONCERTS:
- Sunday, December 15 at 4:00 PM: Nashirah
/Ansche Chesed (NYC) Choir Exchange
In times of heightened animosity and political divisions, when we struggle to hear each other, two Jewish Community Choirs, Nashirah: the Jewish Chorale of Greater Philadelphia and Shirei Chesed: the Jewish Community Chorus in New York, invite you to hear diverse musical voices that long for connection, dare to hope and celebrate life. In 2018 the two choral collectives commissioned and performed “That Love” by the Palestinian musician and activist Wisam Gibran. Join us in December to be inspired by an excerpt from Gibran’s monumental work, exciting new commissions, Israeli and Ukrainian songs, as well as beautiful classical settings of the Jewish liturgy. This is the next installment of the BZBI Jewish Music Series.
Register here for this concert or the full series. BZBI is committed to making our programming as accessible as possible. If cost is a barrier to your participation, please email Rabbi Abi.
