The Rittenhouse Square neighborhood is home to one of the city’s most vibrant Jewish communities. We are lucky to have many synagogues and minyanim in the area, including Spruce Street Minyan, Mekor Habracha/Center City Synagogue, and Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel (BZBI). Join us as we bring together these three communities for a very special Rittenhouse Community Shabbat on Friday, May 9, 2025.
The evening will begin with traditional egalitarian Kabbalat Shabbat/Maariv at BZBI (300 South 18th Street, 6:30 PM) and traditional Orthodox Kabbalat Shabbat/Maariv at Mekor Habracha (1500 Walnut St, #206, 7:00 PM). The communities will then come together for a shared Shabbat dinner at the Ethical Society (1906 Rittenhouse Square) at approximately 7:45 PM.
In a time of polarization and intolerance, let’s come together to promote unity, joy, and the celebration of Shabbat. Register here.
This dinner is supported by BZBI, Mekor Habracha, Spruce Street Minyan, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Center City Kehillah, and OneTable.
