You may be new to Judaism. You may be getting by during services from transliteration and singing along. Your previous learning may be covered in rust. No matter. This four-hour workshop is for anyone who wants to learn to read Hebrew, starting from recognizing the letters in the alef-bet, using clever and effective materials from the National Jewish Outreach Program (NJOP). In four hours, we can’t cover the whole alef-bet; you’ll learn about 6-8 consonants and vowels. But, you will get an introduction to Hebrew as a language and a good look at how the NJOP program works, including its focus on vocabulary from the prayerbook.
Register here by July 12.
This workshop will provide a good foundation and a taste of what you can accomplish if you sign up for a 9-month weekly course that is launching in the fall. Light lunch, snacks and coffee will be provided.
