Mazel Tov Jonnah!
Jonnah Berger is a 7th grader at Julia R. Masterman middle school. He loves sports and is currently playing competitive tennis and soccer. He also enjoys playing cards, ping pong, and football. Jonnah has been attending BZBI and Neziner Hebrew school since he was five, as a proud member of the synagogue.
For his Bar Mitzvah project Jonnah has been doing two things. These are, volunteering at the Jewish Relief Agency, J.R.A. every month, and coaching kids ages 4-7 at his tennis center. Every weekend, from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM Jonnah coached little kids, sometimes even from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM with a 1 hour, 30 minute clinic to follow. Also, the first Sunday of every month, Jonnah packaged boxes at J.R.A., then delivered them to less fortunate people, then promptly went to coach kids. From volunteering with kids, Jonnah has learned to be more patient with people he may never even talk to, and to be kind and empathetic to all others.
Jonnah and his parents and sister are excited to celebrate with you on Shabbat, October 20. We hope you enjoy this momentous occasion with us.
