Tot Shabbat

BZBI Tot Shabbat is a Shabbat morning celebration geared towards the youngest members of our community. This program is perfect for children aged infant through 3 years and their families. Our Tot Shabbat celebration includes Shabbat songs, stories, opportunities to move around and dance, and our own Kiddush.

Tot Shabbat takes place from 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM during the year on Shabbat mornings when Hebrew School is in session. We also have special Tot Shabbat events planned during the summer, including on July 24, August 7, August 14, and August 21, 2021.

For details, please contact Rabbi Max, our Director of Youth and Family Education, at education@bzbi.org.

Bonim

Bonim (Builders!) is our Shabbat morning pre-kindergarten program that was created for children who are between the ages of 4 and 5 years old. These are children who have outgrown Tot Shabbat, but are not quite old enough to begin Hebrew School. The morning is filled with activities and fun that will focus on learning about Jewish holidays, mitzvot, and Jewish values through Shabbat-friendly crafts and play.

Bonim takes place from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM on Shabbat mornings when Hebrew School is in session, and is taught by Merissa Richmond, who is a pro at leading wonderful experiences for our Bonim kids on Shabbat, and also teaches in the preschool during the week.

Parents are required to register children for Bonim. For details, please contact Rabbi Max, our Director of Youth and Family Education, at education@bzbi.org.
