Shabbat Morning with Josh Warshawsky & ShabbaTeeny

February 9 2019, 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Join BZBI in welcoming song leader Josh Warshawsky, a favorite at Ramah camps nationwide, who will share his original melodies and teach about the power of music in prayer.

On Shabbat morning, Josh will guide our Junior Congregation through services and then join us in the main Sanctuary to teach and lead musaf.

Early childhood families will enjoy a special ShabbaTeeny, a Ramah style service with Elana Rivel, the Director of Ramah Day Camp, for children 0-4 years old and their grown ups featuring stories, songs, snacks, and friendship!

Afterwards we will all gather for an extended kiddush.

Josh Warshawsky is a nationally touring Jewish musician. Originally from Chicago, Josh has shared his original melodies with Jewish communities throughout the US, Canada, the UK, and Israel. He has released three albums of Jewish music. The newest album, “Chaverai Nevarech,” was released in November 2018. Josh spends his weekdays in rabbinical school at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, and his weekends traveling to Jewish communities across the country sharing music and prayer. Josh has spent the past 18 summers at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, and the last five summers teaching and performing at Ramah camps across the country. Co-Sponsored by The BZBI Sisterhood, Gesher Ramah, a program of the National Ramah Commission supported by generous funding from the AVI CHAI  Foundation, the Youth and Family Parent Teacher Association, and the BZBI Early Childhood Program.
