First Day of Rosh Hashanah

First Day of Rosh Hashanah

September 30 2019, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM

We look forward to welcoming the New Year 5780 at our High Holy Day services. Recognizing the Jewish diversity within our community, BZBI offers two different inclusive, egalitarian tefillah (prayer) experiences for the High Holidays. All of our services welcome adults and families seeking an uplifting spiritual experience.

Goldberg Sanctuary Service, 8:30 AM

The Goldberg Sanctuary Service offers a moving tefillah experience led by Rabbis Abe Friedman, Annie Lewis, and Yosef Goldman. The High Holy Days liturgy is enhanced by inspiring readings and Rabbi Goldman’s evocative singing, weaving together traditional and contemporary melodies.

Kahaner Service, 9:00 AM

The Kahaner Service features community-led tefillah (prayer) in an intimate, participatory setting. Grounded in Hebrew liturgy, this service emphasizes communal singing and a well-paced High Holiday experience, with teaching by Rabbis Annie Lewis and Abe Friedman.

Babysitting and children’s programming will be available during both services, beginning at 8:30 AM. We also offer a special service and program for Young Families.
