Marom Kabbalat & Pop-up Foodie Shabbat

September 9 2016, 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Event Navigation

Join the Young Adult community for a Pop-up foodie Shabbat dinner with Tribe12 Academy Leadership Program Alumni Jonathan Hartig. Following dinner, Rabbi Goldman and Cantor Grainer will lead us in an uplifting, contemplative Kabbalat Shabbat service with soulful singing and percussion.

Jonathan likes to consider himself a renaissance Jew. Growing up in NYC, his parents made Judaism a focal point of their lives, but they were not super observant. He went to an Modern Orthodox day school, was an active member on USY conventions and summer trips, and attended a nondenominational summer camp. He has always loved to celebrate Jewish holidays and Shabbat and was inspired to create Jewish-inspired recipes.

As part of the Tribe12 academy leadership program, Jonathan’s love of food and Jewish culture led him to develop the concept and form “Pop Up Foodie Shabbat.” Pop Up Foodie Shabbat is a unique Shabbat meal experience aimed at young Jews who are also passionate about food. Their mission is to provide unique, exciting, and above all, delicious Shabbat dinners to all. They want to make it super easy for YOU to host or attend a Shabbat dinner where the meal is foodie-centric without you having to slave over a hot stove all day—they’ll do it for you!

BZBI is excited to work with Jonathan.

As of Thursday at 3:30 PM, the Shabbat dinner is FULL! Please join us for services at 7:30 PM!
