Eve Kobell Bat Mitzvah

April 3 2020, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Mazel tov to Eve Kobell, daughter of Deena Kobell and David Sorensen who will become Bat Mitzvah this weekend.

Eve Helena Kobell lives in Southwest Center City with her mother, father, and little sister, Elsie. Eve is a graduate of BZBI’s Laurie Wagman Preschool and the Perelman Jewish Day School in Wynnewood. She is presently a seventh grade student at the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy in Bryn Mawr. Eve has spent the last four summers at Camp Ramah in New England (Go Palmer Roos!!!) and she is looking forward to her fifth this summer! A ballet dancer since the age of two, Eve attends the Rock School for Dance Education and enjoys performing in their annual Nutcracker and showcase performances. She also studies classical piano and is currently studying Bach’s Fugues and Inventions, and Schubert’s Dances. In her free time, Eve enjoys reading, painting, crafting, and baking. For her bat mitzvah project, she worked with Sharsheret to organize a Breast Cancer Awareness Month at her school. Participating in several fundraisers, she raised money for Sharsheret and collected hats and scarves to donate to cancer patients at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. Though she will probably cringe when she reads this, Eve excels at all that she does and her parents are very proud of her!

Eve will be celebrating a “Zoom Mitzvah” during Friday afternoon service. She will lead a community Mincha service, and will be sharing and chanting words of Torah. The whole community is invited to join in this virtual celebration.

Participants will receive a Zoom login, while members of the community are invited to watch on the Temple BZBI Facebook page, at https://www.facebook.com/temple.bzbi/
