BZBI-wide Book Club: Squirrel Hill

August 30 2022, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The summer book club selection is Squirrel Hill by Mark Oppenheimer. The book describes how “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” became the site of the most deadly antisemitic attack on American soil – and what happened afterward – with the precision of the best suspense stories. Mark is the author of five books, including Knocking on Heaven’s Door: American Religion in the Age of Counterculture and The Newish Jewish Encyclopedia. He was the religion columnist for The New York Times from 2010 to 2016, and since 2006 has directed the Yale Journalism Initiative.  The book club discussion will take place on Tuesday, August 30 at 7:00 PM.
