BZBI-Wide Book Club: Yellow Bird Sings

BZBI-Wide Book Club: Yellow Bird Sings

February 8 2021, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Our next read will be The Yellow Bird Sings by Jennifer Rosner. Yes, it is a Holocaust book but with some themes not usually addressed in other works. Sheryl Gross will facilitate our discussion on Feb 8 at 7 pm via Zoom. It is easily available at The Free Library.

“Rosner’s exquisite, heart-rending debut novel is proof that there’s always going to be room for another story about World War II….This is an absolutely beautiful and necessary novel, full of heartbreak but also hope, about the bond between mother and daughter, and the sacrifices made for love.” ―The New York Times

BZBI-wide Book Club meetings require registration, and you can sign up here.

We are still determining future titles to review later in the spring. Dates are yet to be finalized. If you are itching to pursue copies from the library, please consider “ApeIrogon” by McCann, “If All the Seas were Ink” by Kurshan, “The Story of Yiddish” by Karlen, “Black, White and Jewish” by Walker, and “The Last Kings of Shanghai” by Kaufman. All of these may be considered in the near future. Please Contact us after you have read any of them and let us know if we should move it to the top of our list.
