SUMMARY:MahJongg Returns to BZBI
DESCRIPTION:Weekly in-person MahJongg returns to Klinghoffer Chapel! This weekly game is a fun social gathering\, not a high stakes game. There will be a teaching table and a playing table until everyone is confident in their game. Money generated by winning hands goes to the BZBI Tzedakah fund. \nAll are welcome\, but everyone must be vaccinated and wear a mask at all times. Players will need a MahJongg Card available from Amazon or the BZBI Sisterhood Gift shop\, where you can also get accessories and A Beginner’s Guide to American MahJongg. Come with a sense of humor and a desire to meet fellow MahJongg players! \nIf interested\, join us in the Chapel or email Eileen directly at eileendwell@gmail.com to tell her of you interest and level of play.

DESCRIPTION:The confluence of a global pandemic\, social upheaval\, and increasingly devastating weather-related disasters have heightened urgent questions about society\, community and the fate of our planet.  We are now in the shemita (sabbatical) year—a year of pause\, release\, and renewal. \nOn Wednesday November 3 at 7:00 PM via Zoom\, we launch a study of shemita\, featuring an in-depth conversation with: \n\nHeather McGhee\, author of The Sum of Us\,\nRabbi Benay Lappe\, founder and Rosh Yeshiva of Svara\, and\nDr. Laurie Zoloth\, professor of Religion and Ethics at Harvard Divinity School.\n\nDrawing from their respective expertise in social and economic policy\, Jewish history and rabbinics\, and ethics and theology\, our speakers will discuss how we can use the crises of the past two years as an opportunity to reimagine and rebuild our world in a new image. \nRegister for the program here.\n\n\n\nBZBI is a co-sponsor of the event and is pleased to offer the program at “pay what you wish” pricing. \n\nSponsored by:
