Facilities Rental

Temple Beth Zion synagogue held its first services in our breathtaking neo-Gothic former church in 1946. Later, Temple Beth Zion merged in 1964 with Temple Beth Israel, founded in 1840.

Today, Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel (BZBI) is a fixture of Center City, just a block from Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square. It is a vibrant congregation of about 440 households that practices Conservative Judaism with egalitarian worship. Our facilities include:

  • The 750-seat Daniel & Beverly Goldberg Sanctuary
  • Isadore & Sophie Klinghoffer Chapel featuring the Herman M. Ellis Memorial Judaica Collection
  • Maxwell J. Kahaner Auditorium and Balcony

These facilities can be reserved – when not otherwise in use – by members of the community with sponsorship by a BZBI member. Note that our kitchen is being renovated and indefinitely unavailable. Also, note that maintenance and security staff must be present when the building is open, and these costs are passed along as part of an event charge for facilities usage.  Please fill out the form below to reserve a synagogue room for your event.
