BZBI, where you thrive

Membership

Welcome to BZBI! We are an urban inclusive, egalitarian, Conservative congregation in the heart of Center City. BZBI has been part of the fabric of Jewish Center City for 175 years. We are truly a neighborhood shul, in Rittenhouse Square, where you will see your BZBI friends around town. Together we are building a community that is caring, connected, and fulfilling. Join us for any of our services or programs.

BZBI welcomes the entire spectrum of Center City’s Jewish community: people of all ages, races, ethnicities, and abilities; interfaith families; people who are single and partnered. People of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We are committed to disability justice and universal accessibility. We will do our best to provide accommodation.

"We moved in on Thursday and we made it to BZBI for services that Saturday, and we've been back pretty much every Saturday since then. At that first Kiddush I can remember that we were welcomed by so many members of the BZBI community and we were lucky enough to leave with more than one Shabbat dinner invitation."

—Eliana and Zach

All are welcome to participate. Our online programs and virtual services include daily and Shabbat services, yoga, Tot Shabbat, lectures, classes, and so much more. We are piloting in-person services and gatherings; please stay tuned for details as pandemic restrictions subside.

The BZBI community exists only through the financial support and generosity of our members. We have a formal dues structure, but will work with your unique situation to make Synagogue membership affordable and meaningful to your circumstance.
